Many people forget that waiters are actually food and drink sellers. To be successful as a salesperson, it is important to have knowledge of the products in order to convince guests to buy them.
A serious restaurateur makes sure that the serving staff continuously taste the dishes and ingredients to have knowledge of the raw materials, content, consistency and taste. It is a good idea to let the waiters taste the intended drink along with the dish, so that they can understand what difference it makes which drink is ordered.
