Do not use the same ice that is used to cool down the winebottles

Do not put wine bottles, liquor bottles, etc. in or on the same ice you use when mixing drinks.

This is because there are bacteria on the bottles that end up on the ice. Some of the bacteria thrive and spread more quickly due to the cold and temperature differences, and as a result, all ice will become contaminated and unsanitary. Ice should not be used and should be discarded or used only for cooling bottles.

If the ice is used to make drinks for paying guests, there is a risk of “food poisoning” them.

A bartender should be aware of this and this should be informed to other serving staff
